Waza Utd, Busumbala Karate Clubs Karate training wraps up

A three-day karate training for karate trainers and athletes ended at the WAZA United Training Centre in Old Yundum over the weekend.

The training was organised by WAZA United Karate Club and Busumbala Karate Club to improve the skills and talents of karate trainers and athletes.

The training was led by a renowned Senegalese karate instructor Ibrahima Mbaye, was attended by senior members from both clubs, including international recognized Chief Instructor for Shotokan Karate in The Gambia, Sensei Alhusain Trawally.

The course was orgainsed to improve the quality of refereeing in local competitions.

 Technical Director of WAZA United, Sensei Pateh Jobe, stated that the training would provide karate trainers and athletes with greater opportunities to grow in karate sport.

Technical Director of Busumbala Karate Club, Sensei Trawally, revealed thatthe training targeted trainers and athletes.

Course instructor, Ibrahima Mbaye praised the high level of integration between Senegal and The Gambia in terms of karate.

"Athletes and referees need to be developed in a manner to ensure the quality of the sport," Mbaye said.

Mbaye added that karate is a sport that promotes peace, security and athlete health.
