Wallidan beat Fortune in 6-goal thriller

Wallidan FC surprisingly defeated Fortune FC 4-2 at home during their week-30 fixture played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on Saturday.

The Petroleum boys, Fortune took a 2-0 lead through Mustapha Jallow and Ebrima Sanyang, before Dawda Darboe and Pedro Jatta levelled the scoreline for Wallidan FC.

Modou Lamin Manneh put Wallidan in front for the first time, before Saikou Camara made it 4-2 with a beautiful finish late in the game.

The Blues, Wallidan now recorded their ninth win of the season, while the Petroleum Boys suffered their sixth defeat of the season.

Wallidan FC overall collected 9 wins, 8 draws and suffered 13 defeats in 30 games, while Fortune FC overall gathered 11 victories, 13 draws and suffered 6 losses in 30 games.

The result put Wallidan FC on 13th position (first-from-bottom) with 35 points, while Fortune sit 4th position with 46 points.

Despite the result, Wallidan await the play-off as Bombada FC thrashed Samger 7-0 to stay in the league.

Meanwhile, Waa Banjul joined Samger as both teams relegate to the Second Division League.
