The cash is divided among teams within the 4 wards in his constituency. They include Bansang, Sareh Sofie, Galley Manda and Daru Wards.
Alhagie Jawara, a native of Samba village in the Sareh Sofie Ward on behalf of young people thanked Hon. Kora for the gesture meant to organise a nawetan competition within the district.
He added that the gesture will encourage youths of the district to actively participate in sports especially football as well as come together to interact and know one another but also to showcase their talents to select the best players for the district that can represent them at regional level.
Recipients commended the NAM for his generosity, saying his gesture was the first by a National Assembly Member from the Constituency. They expressed their willingness to re-elect him come next National Assembly Elections.
Hon. Bakary B. Kora attended a match in Sareh Sofie Ward where Sinchu Cheddoyel defeated Sareh Sillereh 1-nil.
Hon. Kora in his remarks, pointed out the importance of football in maintaining peace in the country. He added that the gesture is part of his duty to his electorates.
He advised them to love one another, do away with violence as well as take part in national development initiatives.
