The Scorpions coach and other Belgian coaches who made outstanding efforts in helping their teams register success during the past year were nominated for the award.
The Belgian awards named the Guy Thys prize, rewards the Belgian football coach for the past season after a vote by professional Belgian coaches.
Reacting to the news, The Gambia Belgian coach expressed honour to be among the selected coaches for the awards.
“It’s teamwork but naturally a huge honour for me. Thanks to the Federation, my players and my staff for the achievements we made with The Gambia which brought this 3rd place amongst over hundred Belgian coaches,” Saintfiet told GFF Media.
Meanwhile, Felice Mazzu (Anderlecht) finished 1st with 168 points and Philippe Clement (AS Monaco) in 2nd and Tom had 128 points. Vincent Kompany ended in 8th.
