Technical coaching course on Beach Volleyball underway

 A five-day technical coaching course for The Gambia Volleyball Federation (GVBF) coaches is currently underway at the Baobab Holiday Resort in Bijilo.

The course brings together coaches across the country to expose to advanced strategies and techniques.

Technical Director at the GNOC, Reverend Mary Pedro Decker, stated that the course is aimed at helping coaches to identify challenges.

Pedro Decker stated that the course would go a long way in helping GVBF.

He urged participants to make good use of the opportunity.

First vice president of The Gambia Volleyball Federation (GVBF), Lamin A. Jammeh, expressed optimism that the knowledge gained would translate into athletes.

Jammeh revealed that the course would improve knowledge of coaches, adding that boost the standard of elite athletes to represent The Gambia in the international competitions.

He noted that GNOC cannot do much without their federation.

Jammeh urged the participants to share the knowledge gained from the course.

He extended gratitude to the trainer Sheikh Muhammed Ben Hamida for his expertise and effort.

Executive Director of the National Sports Council (NSC), Mahmud Lamin Jawla, revealed that success of any sports is the dedication and expertise of its coaches.

Jawla extended gratitude to the trainer, adding that the effort of the participants could leave a lasting legacy in the area of volleyball in The Gambia.

Trainer, Sheikh Muhammed Ben, thanked GNOC for the opportunity to develop volleyball coaches in the country.

Ben disclosed that he would select top ten participants for a one year course for free.

Secretary General of GNOC, Yorro Njie, urged the coaches to make the best use of the knowledge gained from the training.
