Coaches play crucial role in development of volleyball athletes- GVBF 1st VP

First Vice President of The Gambia Volleyball Federation (GVBF), Lamin A. Jammeh, has revealed that coaches played crucial role in the development of Volleyball athletes in the country.

Jammeh was speaking during the opening ceremony of a five-day technical coach course at the Baobab Holiday Resort on Saturday.

"There are a lot of programmes going on.

Youths games are ongoing at the beach and indoor. We cannot achieve anything if our level has not increased," Jammeh said.

Jammeh stated that The Gambia would participate in the Olympic Games in Senegal, adding that preparations are ongoing to prepare themselves ready for the championship.

‘‘We would not only be there as a participant but as a contender to bring glory to The Gambia.

We cannot be achieved our dreams without support from coaches.

That is why this training is very important because they are the ones that serve as a bridge between us and the athletes,’’ Jammeh explained.

Jammeh revealed that coaches prepared athletes to represent The Gambia in the international competitions.

He thanked government for rendering support to volleyball development in the country.

Jammeh also thanked to GNOC for supporting GVBF.
