The nawetan will feature five women’s football teams within Serrekunda East.
Modou Yusupha Cham, President of SESDO, was delighted with the initiative and assured his committee’s readiness in making the tournament a success.
He added that his committee and partners have put up strategies to ensure the success of the first-ever women’s nawetan. He noted that the strategies would also help them seek sponsors for the competition.
The team reps at the meeting hailed the committee and their partners for coming up with the initiative, adding that community involvement will pave the way for the tournament’s success.
Each team will pay one thousand dalasis (D1,000) as registration fee for the tournament.
Meanwhile, gate tickets are pegged at D10 across all gates to help the committee run the daily expenses of the tournament.
Choro Mbenga-Nyassi, a key advocate of women’s football, reminded the teams to be time conscious and respect the kick-off times for all matches.
