Senegal scuffle Gambia in int'l friendly today

Senegal will clash with The Gambia in an international match today, Tuesday, 31st March 2026 at the Stade Abdoulaye Wadda at 7pm.

The Terranga Lions thumped Peru 2-0 in an international friendly match played on Saturday before locking horns with The Gambia.

Nicolas Jackson and Ismaïla Sarr were on target for Senegal in the 41st and 54th minutes of the match respectively.

Senegal are currently preparing themselves fit enough before the commencement of 2026 World Cup.

The Terranga Lions reached the quarter-finals of the 2002 World Cup after defeating Sweden 2-1 in their round of sixteen (16) clash.

The Gambia held their final training session yesterday and will contend to beat Senegal in their international friendly match.

The Scorpions will use their international friendly match against Senegal to prepare themselves set for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Gambia have qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations twice in 2021 and 2023 respectively.

The Scorpions failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after finishing third-place in Group A of the qualifiers with 8 points in six group matches.
