Scan Aid draw with host in CAF Schools football championship

Gambia’s Scan Aid Girls football team yesterday, Tuesday played a 1-1 draw with the host team Edendale Technical High School during their opening Group A game of the CAF Pan-African U-15 School Football tournament in Durban, South Africa.

 

It was a positive start for the Gambian side after coming from behind to force the game to a stalemate against the host (South African) team.

The host, Edendale Technical High School took the lead during the first period, before Gambia’s Scan Aid Kaddy Camara restored parity in the second period of the game to force the game to 1-1 stalemate.

Meanwhile, Gambia’s representative, Scan Aid will qualify from their group to the semifinals if they avoid a heavy defeat against Fountain Gate School of Tanzania who hammered Edendale Technical High School 7-0 in their first match.

Scan Aid will return to action against Fountain Gate School in their final Group A game today, Thursday at 8:30am.
