Red Star U-17 daze Touray Empire on spot-kick to lift late Modou Janneh Super Cup crown

Red Star FC on Sunday stunned Touray Empire FC 4-3 on post-match penalty shootouts after regulation time ended 1-1 in a tightly-contested final played at the Gunjur Nyamina Mini Stadium to lift the 2026 late Modou Janneh Memorial Intermediate Super Cup title.

The Red Star U-17 Boys and the Touray Empire  Boys both played exciting football and created goal scoring opportunities.

Midfielder Sulayman Saidy opened the scores for Red Star U-17 in the 13th minute of the match from an astonishing strike.

Touray Empire FC responded back for an equaliser but were unable to unlock Red Star U-17's formidable defence line thus the first half ended 1-0 in favour of Red Star U-17.

As action resumed in the second half, Touray Empire FC organised themselves and mounted heavy pressure on Red Star U-17, creating goal opportunities.

Bubacarr Manneh restored parity for Touray Empire FC in the stoppage time of the match from a stunning free-kick thus the match ended 1-1.

This pushed the match into post-match penalty shootouts, which ended 4-3 in favour of Red Star U-17.

As champions, Red Star U-17 were decorated with medals, a giant trophy and a cash prize of D10,000 while Touray Empire FC received medals and D5,000 as runners-up.
