Coach Giggs as he is fondly called, made the remarks in an interview with reporters following his team’s 2-0 win over TMT FC during their week-four fixtures of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) First Division League played at the King George 5 Mini Stadium in Banjul on Friday.
Alasana Yirajang scored both goals (a brace) for Real de Banjul in each half (19th and 56th minutes) to continue the defending champions’ perfect start to the season.
“I am very happy that we won all four consecutive matches in the league so far without conceding. But we are still counting and my target so far is to win the first five games and not concede,” said Coach Jatta.
He added that their opponent (TMT FC) have brilliant and compact players. “We allowed them to play with the ball and capitalised on their mistakes to collect the maximum points,” he stated.
Despite having a perfect start to the season, Coach Jatta noted that they are still in transformation based on the culture of Real de Banjul FC.
“We still have lapses within the central midfield area but we will still find a way of solving it before our week-five fixture,” he said.
According to him, his target is to top the table standings, although the club’s objective is to develop and sell players as well as finish the league as one of the top three teams on the table standing.
