The Gambia Women’s National Team (the Queen Scorpions) returned to training yesterday, Sunday after returning to the country following their 8-0 thrashing in the hands of Cameroon in their first leg of the African Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) qualifiers played on Friday at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaoundé.

Queen Scorpions trained at the National Technical Training Center in Old Yundum and are expected to re-camp there ahead of Wednesday's second leg against the Indomitable Lionesses in the Morocco African Women's Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Gambian team will seek to overturn the result to secure their first AWCON appearance in history.

The winner over the two legs will qualify for the AWCON in Morocco later this year.

Cameroon are four times AWCON finalists.
