The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Prize Money Fund Breakdown:
Group Stage: AFCON 2025 is likely to feature a total prize fund of $32 million.
Teams finishing bottom of their groups and exiting the tournament will receive $500,000 each, while the two third-placed teams that are eliminated will earn $700,000 each.
Knockout Rounds: 8 teams losing in the Round of 16 will earn $800,000 each.
4 losing Quarter-finalists receive $1.3 million, while two losing teams in semi-final each $2.5 million.
The runner-up will be awarded $4 million, while the AFCON 2025 champions will take home $7 million.
In 2023 edition CAF announced 40% increase in prize money compared to previous edition.
2025 edition of Afcon is likely to have same prize money fund as 2023.
However compared to UEFA Euro and Copa America, AFCON still lags behind massively.
Last UEFA Euro had a total of $385 million (€331m) prize money fund.
While Copa America 2024 had total prize money find of $72 million.
AFCON has been closing the gap and considering other regions such as Asia, Oceania and Middle-east's Arab Cup Afcon has much high prize money fund.
It is highly likely to stay the same like 2023 edition, considering CAF usually increase prize money after every two editions of the tournament.
