The President of the Women’s Football Association (GWFA), Miss Sainabou Cham, has stated that lack of football fields has been a problem during the 2023-2024 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Women’s League campaign.

Cham was speaking to reporters during the 2024 Women’s FF cup final played at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama recently.

‘‘We don’t have enough grounds to play our matches that’s why we played matches in Basori,” she said.

‘‘There are also some grounds that are not good,’’ Cham added.

Cham stated that the poor state of football grounds is their main challenges.

Cham thanked the president of The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Lamin Kaba Bajo for his support to women’s football.

Miss Cham revealed that the just ended league campaign was very competitive while hoping to see another competitive league next year.

‘’We are expecting to have more good grounds,’’ Cham posited.

Cham pointed out that every spectator who came to watch the final saw the good football that was played.

She thanked the journalists for covering Women’s League.

Cham also thanked parents for allowing their girl child to play football.
