Omar Colley opened the scores for Foni Berefet in the 30th minute of the match, which eventually proved to be the winner for the Foni Berefet Boys.
Ousainou Sanyang could have levelled matters for Foni Kansala in the 35th minute of the match from the penalty spot but his effort was saved by Foni Berefe’s custodian Isaac Mendy thus the first half ended 1-0 in favour of Berefet.
Upon resumption of the match, Kansala regrouped themselves and dominated Foni Berefet in the match, creating some chances but failed to capitalise on them thus the match ended 1-0 in favour of Foni Berefet.
As champions, Foni Berefet received a giant trophy, gold medals and a cash prize of D25, 000 while Foni Kansala received silver medals and D20, 000 as runners-up.
The well-attended final was graced by members of the West Coast Football Association, including President Bakary Bojang, President of Foni sports, members of APS mobile wallet and national assembly member for Foni Berefet Hon. Amie Colley.
Meanwhile, Foni Berefet have won the Foni inter district football tournament trophy three times since the start of the Foni biggest football fiesta some years ago.
