Organising Commitee of GFF dismisses Ali Sowe FC petition

Aug 1, 2025, 10:34 AM

The Organising Committee of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has dismissed a protest by Ali Sowe Football Club, which alleged Sibanor United to have fielded ineligible players in their Second Division League promotion playoff match last week.

In its protest, Ali Sowe FC alleged that Omar Nyassi, Alagie Modou Jarju, Ousman Camara and Modou Lamin Jarju weren’t eligible to represent Sibanor United in the said match.

The Organising Committtee deliberated the matter in its latest meeting held this week.

Following thorough investigations as well as based on the evidence provided before it.

The Committee noted that the matter was an administrative error that emanated from the West Coast Regional Football Association, which led to the omission of the aforementioned quartet from the first master list.

However, the second master list rectified the errors and included the players in that list.

Consequently, after reviewing both master lists and several match forms from the West Coast Regional Third Division League.

The Committee concluded that the players are legally registered players of Sibanor United based on this evidence, the protest by Ali Sowe FC is dismissed, declared null and void.

Sibanor United’s promotion to the Second Division League has been upheld.
