Yankuba Minteh recorded his name in Gambian football history as the first player from the West African nation to be nominated for the prestigious Fans' Player of the Month award.

This remarkable achievement underscores the 20-year-old winger's exceptional talent, individual brilliance, and outstanding performances for Brighton Albion.

Minteh's impressive form has been instrumental in securing crucial wins, including a stunning 3-0 victory over Chelsea, where he scored a brace and provided a sublime assist for Mitoma for ‘Seagulls’ 3rd goal at Stamford Bridge Mid February.

The former Steve Biko and Feyenoord talisman has also played a key role in massive wins against Manchester United, scoring the first goal against Ruben Amorim’s side at Old Trafford, Southampton, and AFC Bournemouth, cementing his reputation as a rising star in the Premier League.

Minteh will now compete for the esteemed award alongside Premier League icons, including Egypt's Mohamed Salah, who is spearheading Liverpool's title charge as the Reds bid to claim their first Premier League crown since 2020.
