Former Abuko United star and national team player, Mam Drammeh has guided AS Dakar Sacr’e Coeur to clinch the Senegalese Women League One crown.

DSC won the title unbeaten after 20 league matches

Drammeh joined Dakar based-club DSC on a season-loan deal from Gambian Premier League side Abuko United Female Football Club.

Mam Drammeh made 19 appearances, neted 7 league goals and provided 10 assists perhaps making her one the best Gambian foreign female player in recent history.

DSC is expected to leave Dakar today, Friday, for Monrovia for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Women’s Championship.

Speaking to The Point Sports from her base in Dakar, Mam Drammeh expressed delight for guiding her side to the Senegalese League One crown.

She added that things were not easy when she first joined the club. “I met 11 national team players of the Senegalese national team in the club and had to fight to prove that I was worth a starting place.”

“Due to my dedication and commitment I earn the coach’s trust and became a starter in the team,” she added.

She highlighted that her aim is to travel and sign a professional contract next year.

She thanked the management, technical staff and players of Abuko United for giving her the opportunity to travel and play in a different league.

According to her, “without Abuko United I would not have been here.”

Meanwhile in a separate development, Kanifing Municipality Regional Football Association (KMRFA) Female Third Division League is slated for Saturday 5th August 2023 at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai at 5pm between Darboe’s Academy against Soccer Girls.
