Jane Joof named Coach of the Month

Head coach of Fortune FC, Jane Joof has been named Coach of the Month for January 2021, by executive of The Gambia Football Coaches Association (GFCA).

Coach Joof guided Fortune FC to two wins and a draw in their three opening fixtures in January.

Jane Joof’s side, Fortune FC beat Waa Banjul 1-0 in their opening league encounter in January played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau. Bully Drammeh scored the only goal of the game for the Petroleum boys.

The Farato-base team drew 1-1 in their second league game in January against Tallinding United in an encounter played at the National Technical Training Center in Yundum.

Salifu Saho scored for Fortune before Tallinding United equalised to force the game to a draw.

Nuimi-born coach Jean Joof and Fortune also narrowly defeated Real de Banjul 1-0 in their third league match, played at the National Technical Training Center in Yundum.

Basiru Manga was introduced from the bench to score the only goal of the match for Fortune in the 79 minutes to register their first win against Real de Banjul in the GFF 1st Division League.

Jane Joof reacted to the award on social media by thanking everyone for their support.

“Thanks for all your support and prayers. Well appreciated,” he posted on Facebook Account.

Coach Jane Joof guided Fortune FC to a consistency run of form as they occupy top spot since the beginning of February.

He also guided his side to an unbeaten run since the start of the season as they registered four wins, two draws without a lose so far in the league with 16 points at the top of the table after six matches.
