Kantora Ex-Footballers Peace Tourney: Jawo kunda FC clasp maiden triumph

Jawo Kunda FC on Sunday clasped their first victory in the Kantora Ex-Footballers Peace Football Tournament after thumping Kebbeh Kunda 2-0 in their first group match played at the Sotuma Football Field.

Jawo Kunda came into the pitch with hunger to beat Kebbeh Kunda FC clutch the maximum points.

The Jawo Kunda Boys dominated the first half.

Bai Jawo opened the scoring for Jawo Kunda FC in the 5th minutes of the match.

The contest became more intense, with Kebbeh Kunda FC came closer to level matters but failed to capitalise on their opportunities.

The breakthrough came when Jawo Kunda winger delivered a cross into a congested defence, leaving Kebbeh Kunda goalkeeper unable to react on deflected ball within his area in which Foday Jawo scored in the 51th minute of the match to extend Jawo Kunda FC's lead.

As the match continued, Jawo Kunda FC showed possession of the match as they took advantage.

 Kebbeh Kunda FC had few opportunities to equalise but failed to score.

Haruna Jawo of Kebbeh Kunda FC received the Man of the Match award despite losing to Jawo Kunda FC.

Jawo produced a brilliant performance for Kebbeh Kunda FC. He was unfortunate after his team failed to capitalise on their limited goal scoring opportunities.

Jawo Kunda FC walked away with the maximum points in their first match of the 2025 Kantora Ex-Footballer Peaceful Football Tournament.
