Julangel FC eliminated Bremen FC after a 6-5 post-match penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw in the regulation time during the early match played on Saturday.
Julangel FC, are in both league and knockout tournaments after they top Group G going into the round of 16 stage in the league cup tournament. Bremen will now hang their nawetan boots until next season following their elimination from both competitions.
They occupied bottom position in the Group H after collecting one point in three matches, before their elimination from the knockout tournament.
Luneburg FC also advanced to the next round of the tournament following their 1-0 win over Samtom Academy during the late encounter played on Saturday.
It was a very entertaining encounter between the two teams, as both teams showed off their skills beautifully during the first 15 minutes of the game before Luneburg striker Sheriff Camara took advantage of Samtom Academy’s defensive error to break the deadlock in the 19th minutes.
Samtom Academy came into the second half with much determination and hard work looking for an equalizer but all their efforts went futile due to the resolute defense line of Luneburg.
The result gave Luneburg their first point since the start of the nawetan season following their three consecutive defeats in the league tournament.
Luneburg FC, who collected zero points in the league now have only the knockout tournament to fight for while Samtom Academy are now out of the knockout tournament after progressing into the round of the 16 stage of the league tournament.
