Henry Gomez donates football materials, cash to Banjul football teams

The leader of The Gambia Party for Democracy and Progress (GPDP), Henry Gomez, who is now the Special Presidential Adviser on matters concerning youth, on Saturday, supported Banjul football teams with football materials.

The move is meant to support youth of The Gambia in particular Banjul and strengthen the sports of football, the most popular sport in The Gambia.

The items donated were sets of jerseys, footballs of various labels and a cash amount of 10,000 dalasi.

The beneficiaries were Fire House, Juventus, Ajax, Atletico, London City, Waa Banjul, James Saine, Rapid Viana, Red Tigers, Macdonald United, Ngoyan, Lancaster United, Oneness and multiple others.

The former minister of Youth and Sports under the Barrow administration, said his priority is not what the administration has done for him, but rather what he has done for the country - youth and women. 

“We would invest in youth. Have mercy for the youth. The youth are the leaders of the future. Let us help the youth.”

The presentation was carried out by Fatou Bah-Barrow and Sarjo Mballow-Barrow, the distinguished First and Second Lady respectively at Banjul New Town West Ward during a meeting.
