The Red Devils were held to a goalless draw by Latrikunda United in their last league outing before taking on Unique Global FC, who drew goalless with Serrekunda FC.
Hawks were anxious to grab the vital three points from Unique Global FC to revive their lead on the country’s Second Tier table.
The Red Devils made an excellent start to the match and dominated Unique Global FC in all departments in the field of play, creating many goal scoring chances.
Hawks opened the scores through Abdou Jatta in the 6th minute of the match from a clever strike before Mustapha Bojang extended their lead in the 10th minute to dash Unique Global FC’s dreams of coming back to their feet.
Unique Global FC fought hard for an equaliser and crafted some goal scoring opportunities but failed to materialise on them thus the first half ended 2-0 in favour of Hawks.
Upon resumption of the match, Unique Global FC injected in several fresh legs to reinforce their attacking force but were unable to contain Hawks in the midfield thus the match ended 2-0 in favour of Hawks.
Hawks finished the match with ten men after defender Ebrima Jabbie was sent off in the 82nd minute of the match for unsporting behavour.
The Red Devils are still leading the country’s Second Tier with 10 points in four league matches.
Unique Global FC now occupy 9th place on the Second Division League table with 4 points after four league fixtures.
Meanwhile, RS Tallinding United came from one nil down to draw 1-1 with Serrekunda FC at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.
Pa Sorrie Sillah gave Serrekunda FC the lead in the 33rd minute of the match from an astonishing strike.
RS Tallinding United responded back for an equaliser and levelled matters through Modou Lamin Darboe in the 77th minute of the match from the penalty spot to share the spoils in the country’s Second Tier.
The Gambia Ports Authority drew goalless with The Gambian Dutch Lions at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium to also share the spoils in the Second Division League.
