The Coastal Town boys and the Jarra West boys drew 1-1 in the first round of the country’s Second Tier campaign at the Jarra Soma Mini Stadium.
Gunjur United snatched the significant three points, thanks to striker Moses Jatta’s hat-trick during the match.
Jarra West reacted for an equaliser but were unable to penetrate Gunjur United’s solid defence line thus the match ended 3-0 in favour of Gunjur United.
The victory earns Gunjur United 8th place on the Second Tier table with 27 points after 20 league outings.
Jarra West still sit bottom-place on the Second Division League table with 18 points in 20 league outings.
The Jarra West boys must win their remaining league outings and hope teams above them slip to stay in the country’s Second Tier for another season.
