The Gambia Ports Authority have rejuvenated their lead in the 2025\2026 Vista Bank-Baluwo sponsored Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Division One League.

The Ferry Boys came from one nil down to beat Steve Biko 2-1 in their nail bitting week-8 match played at the Bakau Mini Stadium on Monday.

The Gambia Ports Authority were unbeaten in the First Division League before facing Steve Biko, who were winless since the start of the country's Elite League last month.

Steve Biko came for the maximum points to move away from the relegation zone following their slow start to the First Division League campaign.

The Bakau Giant Killers fought tooth and nail to defeat The Gambia Ports Authority to clasp their first victory in the country's Elite League but slipped to the Ferry Boys.

Pa Yusupha Jammeh gave Steve Biko the lead two minutes after the restart.

The Gambia Ports Authority responded back for an equaliser and levelled matters through Baboucarr Cherno Jallow in the 58th minute of the match.

Ansumana Jawara scored the winning for The Gambia Ports Authority in the 67th minute of the match from an excellent strike.

Steve Biko reacted for an equaliser but were unable to unlock The Gambia Ports Authority's formidable defence line thus the match ended 2-1 in favour of the Ferry Boys.

The Gambia Ports Authority occupy top-spot on the country's Elite League table with 18 points in eight league matches.

Steve Biko still sit bottom-place on the First Division League table with 6 points after eight league outings.

The Bakau Giant Killers will battle to win their next league match to better their status on the First Division League table.
