GNOC names Salifu Touray as CDM for ANOCA Youth Games

The Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC) has named Salifu Touray as the Chef de Mission (CDM) for the 2025 African Youth Games to be hosted in Luanda, Angola, under the aegis of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA).

As part of our strategic roadmap towards the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, the GNOC views participation in the ANOCA Youth Games as a critical preparatory and qualification platform.

GNOC intends to feature athletes in the following disciplines, with the respective slot allocations.

Athletics will feature 10 athletes with 5 boys and 5 girls competing in the track and field.

One male swimmer and one male badminton athlete will adorn the national colors.

Two athletes will feature in judo whiles boxing and wrestling will each send one male to the games.

Taekwondo will be featured at the games with two athletes.

In addition, beach volleyball will compete with both a male and a female team.

Basketball will send a male 3x3 team.

Twenty-Six athletes will ultimately represent the Gambia at the Games that is expected to begin on 10th December 2025 and finish 20th December 2025.
