GFF signs contracts with construction companies, consultants for new infrastructure projects

The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) on Wednesday signed contracts with construction companies, consultants and suppliers for new infrastructure projects and the purchase of vehicles for football development across the country.

The landmark development is part of the federation's accelerated football development efforts across every nook and cranny of the country.

The signing ceremonies, presided over by the President of the GFF, Lamin Kabba Bajo at the Football House in Kanifing.

Lot 1: Bullock & Kwinella

Construction of a grass football pitch, a borehole with a comprehensive watering system, and a perimeter fence.

The project also includes dressing rooms equipped with facilities for home/away teams, referees, match commissioners, medical staff, office space, storage, and sanitation facilities.

 The contracts were awarded to Gigo Construction Company Limited for a duration of nine months.

Lot 2: Old Yundum and Kuntair

In collaboration with FIFA, artificial football pitches will be installed at the Biri-Biri field (National Technical Training Centre in Old Yundum) and Kuntair by the world football governing body.

A local contractor, Tomosina Engineering Services, won this lot and they will handle the civil works, including perimeter fences and dressing rooms with full amenities, as in Lot 1 and are expected to deliver the facilities within nine months.

Lot 3: Jarra Soma Mini Stadium

Completion of the Soma pavilion and dressing rooms.

 The facility will feature comprehensive amenities for teams and officials, including medical rooms, office spaces, and specialized, designated disabled toilets to ensure inclusivity.

That contract was also awarded to Tomasina Engineering Services for a period of nine months.

The consultants for all infrastructure projects is Dam Associates.

Logistics and Mobility

The Federation also signed a contract with Asata Investment for the procurement of eight double-cabin 4x4 pick-up vehicles—one for each of the seven Regional Football Associations and one for Women's Football and the vehicles are expected to be delivered within six weeks.

Additionally, a 32-seater minibus contract awarded to Quantum Net Espace Motors was also signed to support the transportation needs of national league clubs and it is to be delivered within two weeks.

These contracts were awarded and signed following a rigorous and transparent public tender process, with bids opened in the presence of representatives from all bidding companies, ensuring the highest standards of accountability.
