The President of The Gambia Football Federation (GFF), Mr. Lamin Kabba Bajo, has condemned, in the strongest possible terms, the terrorist attack on the team bus of a Somalia football club, resulting in three deaths, including two players.

The JCCI team bus was on its way to the Waamo Stadium when a bomb blast happened on their Club bus killing players Abdi Fatah Hassan Abdullahi and Hanad Hassan Yusuf as well as the bus driver. Five others have been wounded.

In a statement, Mr. Bajo, who expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased, through his Somalian counterpart Mr. Abdiqani, said such atrocities happening is regrettable.

He added that terrorism has no place in the world.

“This is unacceptable and I stand in solidarity with the Somalian people. On my behalf, the Executive Committee and staff, I convey our heartfelt condolences and sympathy on this irreparable loss, to African football as a whole. I also wish the injured a speedy recovery,” Mr. Bajo said.
