Tallinding Utd make stunning start in GFF 2nd Tier League

Tallinding United have made a stunning start to The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Second Division League season after defeating B4U Kiang West 3-1 during their opening played at the Jarra Soma Mini Stadium on Wednesday.

 

 

Yusupha Bojang opened the scoring for the Buffer Zone Boys in the 27th minute before Sulayman Sidibeh and Yankuba Camara extended their lead in the 68th and 90+1 minutes.

Tallinding United registered the biggest victory during the first set of games in the start of the campaign played on Wednesday.

Elsewhere, last year’s relegated side Elite United were held to a 1-1 draw by Jarra West during a game played at the Live Your Dreams Football Academy in Basori on Wednesday.

Jarra West fantastic striker Buba Sey gave the visitors (Jarra West) an early lead with a thumping header in the opening minutes. Elite United found their equalizer in the 23rd minute through striker Ebrima Jagne.

Yaya Manneh’s side (Elite United) were reduced to 10 men when defender Arthur C. Correa was sent off for a tough challenge on Buba Sey in the 51st minute.

Gunjur United on the same day thumped Immigration FC 2-0 in the opening match of the 2022-2023 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Division Two League played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.

The Coastal Town boys slipped to Immigration 2-0 in the second round of the country’s Second Tier campaign last season prior to their Second Division League opening fixture.

Gunjur United made an astonishing start to the match and crafted some goal-scoring opportunities.

The Coastal Town boys opened the scores through creative midfielder Pa Assan Barrow alias Gutty in the 6th minute from an excellent strike.

Wing wizard Abdoulie Jassey alias Pablo Dybala netted the second goal for Gunjur United in the 22nd minute to clasp the significant three points in the 2022-2023 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Division Two League campaign.

Immigration reacted quickly for an equaliser but to no avail thus the match ended 2-0 in favour of Gunjur United.

Meanwhile, at the time of going to press, Bombada were playing against Latrikunda United at Brikama's Box Bar Mini Stadium while BST Galaxy entertained Kanifing East at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum.

Hart FC hosted TMT FC at the Soma Mini Stadium while Coach Ebou Jarra’s GPA played at home to Jam City at the Banjul Mini Stadium.
