The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) on Sunday confirmed the increment of cash prizes in its league competitions for both male and female first and second divisions, with some hitting more than 100 percent rise.

The confirmation was made at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and unveiled to members at its pre-season club management meeting held on Sunday.

For the first time, league champions will be paid D750,000 as opposed to D300,000 of last year. The league runners up will now get D300,000, a rise from D150,000 of last year, while the third place will receive D150,000 as opposed to D100,000 in the past season.

In the male second division, the winner prize has been increased from D100,000 to D300,000, runners up D75,000 to D150,000, while third place which had never got a cash prize before, will now be given D50,000.

The Super Cup has also got some huge pay rise with the winner now going home with D150,000 instead of D75,000 and the runners-up getting D100,000 instead of D50,000.

The late Omar Sey trophy too is now offering D100,000 for the winner, D75,000 for the runners-up and D25,000 for each losing semifinalists.

In the female first division category, the winner will now get D400,000 instead of D150,000 of last year, runners-up will be given D200,000, a rise from D100,000 and the third place occupant will get D100,000 instead of D50,000 of last year.

The FF Cup has also benefitted from the increment as the winner will get D150,000 and not D75,000 paid last year, the runners-up will be going home with D100,000 and not D50,000 and the two semifinalists will each be given D25,000.

The female Super Cup has also seen a pay rise with the winner now going home with D100,000 instead of D75,000 and the runners-up getting D75,000 instead of D50,000.

In the female second division, the winner prize has been increased from D100,000 to D200,000, runners-up from D50,000 to D100,000, while third place which had never got a cash prize before, will now be given D50,000.
