The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has explained the cancellation of the proposed international friendly match between The Gambia and Bolivia.
According to the GFF, the match was called off due to logistical challenges and FIFA compliance issues.
The GFF disclosed that the match was negotiated through a match agent and was not a direct agreement between the two federations.
Bolivia has booked Gambian delegation on flights from Accra to Buenos Aires, despite the match being scheduled in Santa Cruz, with no arrangements for onward travel.
The GFF revealed that the return tickets only covered travel back to Accra, while the required FIFA Tier 1 match forms had not been signed.
The GFF further revealed that they officially withdrew from the fixture on September 28, prioritising the welfare of the players and the team's competitive commitments.
