Gambian players outrival for European clubs

Gambian players have excelled extremely brilliant for their teams in their respective European leagues matches, played over the weekend.

Striker Yusupha Njie was in action for Boavista in their 1-0 home defeat to Moreirense on Saturday.

Scorpions captain Pa Modou Jagne’s FC Zurich hammered Vaduz 5-1 in a friendly match as part of the resumption of the Swiss Superliga.

Saidy Janko’s Young Boys thumped Lausanne 2-0 in a warm up match while midfielder Hamza Barry’s Hajduk Split defeated Zapresic 2-1.

Meanwhile, Gambian trio Bakery Jatta, Alasana Manneh and Alasana Jatta were all in action for their teams in their respective leagues over the weekend.

Scorpions gaffer Tom Saintfiet said he is happy to see the return of the Scorpions in action at their respective European clubs.

"Good to see that more and more of our players started playing again", coach Saintfiet said.
