Gambia U-20 plays Liberia in int’l warm up clash today

The Gambia U-20 team will today, Tuesday, 10 September 2024 play against Liberia in an international friendly match to be played in Monrovia.

The Young Scorpions will clash with a top tier club in Liberia in their second international friendly match on 13 September 2024.

The Gambia will clash with Mauritania in their opening match of the 2024 WAFU Zone A U-20 football tournament on 17th September 2024.

The Young Scorpions will use their international friendly matches to prepare themselves set for the sub-regional cadet biggest football showpiece.

It could be recalled that The Gambia finished as runners-up in the 2022 WAFU Zone A U-20 football tournament after slipping to Senegal 1-0 in a tightly-contested final played in Mauritania.

The Young Scorpions also finished as runners-up in the 2023 Total Energies Africa U-20 Youth Championship after losing to Senegal 2-0 in a final played in Cairo, Egypt.
