Gambia track queen defends 200m crown

Gina Mariam Bass Bittaye, Africa’s fastest female sprint athlete has defended her 200m title after finishing first position at the final of the 13th African Games held in Accra, Ghana.

The Gambian track sensation won gold on Friday with a magnificent timing of 23:13 seconds.

She earlier won gold in the 100m race after finishing first position.

The Police Inspector currently holds national records in the 100 and 200 metres.

The national hero and other athletes were expected to arrive in The Gambia yesterday, Sunday evening following their historic performance.
