The African Games will commence on 8th March 2024 and finish on 23rd March 2024.
According to The Gambia Wrestling Association (GWA), the wrestling competition is set to begin on 9th March 2024 at the Hana Hathiramani Hall Accra Sports Stadium.
The GWA stated that the wrestling championship will finish on 11th March 2024.
Meanwhile, The Gambia will be looking forward to secure a place in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games when Africa and Oceania qualifiers commence on 22nd to 24th March 2024 in Alexandria, Egypt.
This will be preceded by a training camp to be held in Alexandria, Egypt, from 12th to16th March 2024.
The Secretary General of The Gambia Wrestling Association (GWA), Ebrima Suwareh, stated that The Gambia wrestling team intensified their technical preparations ahead of both competitions.
The Gambian wrestlers under the guidance of Seedy Chorr have been training for weeks as they continue to hone their skills ahead of their maiden appearance in both competitions.
The Gambia wrestling team will participate in the free style wrestling in both competitions.
