Gambia face Iran in int'l friendly May 29

The Gambia will battle it out with Iran in an international friendly match on 29 May 2026 in Antalya, Turkey.

Iran have qualified for the 2026 World Cup to be co-hosted in the United States of America (USA), Canada and Mexico.

The Iranians will use their international friendly match against The Gambia to prepare themselves fit enough for the global biggest football showpiece.

The Gambia will use their international friendly match against Iran to prepare themselves ready for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

According to The Gambia Football Federation (GFF), negotiations are underway to organise two international friendly matches for the Scorpions in June 2026 against Sierra Leone and Guinea Bissau.

The GFF stated that the full details regarding the June fixtures, including the match dates, kick-off times and ticket arrangements will be communicated to the public once finalised.
