Fortune FC beaten; GAF win in GFF 1st Division League

League leaders, Fortune FC were beaten, while The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) and Real de Banjul both recorded wins during their week-five fixtures of The Gambia Football Federation First Division League played over the weekend.

Fortune FC was defeated 1-0 by Marimoo Pakfood during a game played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium on Friday.

Demba Sowe scored the only goal of the match for the Manjai-based team.

The defeat maintained Fortune FC at the top of the standings with 12 points, one point above Marimoo Pakfood FC who occupies 2nd position with 11 points after 5 games.

The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) beat Brikama United 2-1 away at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium on Saturday.

Momodou Jobarteh scored the opening goal for Brikama United before GAF's Lamin M. Sanneh leveled the scores.

The Army boys scored a late winner through Emil Sambou's last-minute goal.

The Soldiers moved to 9th position with 7 points, leveled with Gamtel and Team Rhino, while the Sateba boys, Brikama United dropped to 14th position with 4 points, leveled with Waa Banjul and Hawks FC.

Real de Banjul defeated Team Rhino by a lone goal during a game played at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum.

Alieu Gibba's sensational strike in the second period of the game was the only goal and was enough to help the whites collect the maximum points.

Real de Banjul moved to 2nd position with 11 points while Team Rhino FC dropped to 8th position with 7 points.

Hawks FC was forced to a 1-1 draw by Samger FC during a game played at the Bakau Mini Stadium.

Omar Jarju scored for Samger FC, while Remi Mendy restored purity for the defending league champions Hawks FC.

Hawks FC maintained their bottom (15th) position with 4 points, leveled with Brikama United and Waa Banjul.
