Elite Utd record 1st win in 2nd Tier League

Elite United FC have recorded their first victory in the 2023-2024 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Division Second League following their 2-0 away win over Madina United in their week-four fixture played at the King George 5 Mini-Stadium in Banjul on Wednesday.

After a barren goalless draw in the first period, Elite United started the second period very well, opening scoring through a brilliant free-kick in the 50th minute of the match before extending their lead in the 87th minute to collect the maximum points.

Elite United now collected their first win of the season, while Madina United team suffered their first defeat of the league season.

The victory earns Elite United 6th place on the Second Division League table with 5 points, leveling with Medina United, Kanifing East, Hart FC and Latrikunda United.

Last year’s Banjul Regional Third Division League cchampions, Medina United won one matches and drew two.
