This followed a 1-all draw in regulation time. Amadou Hydara scored for Dums FC in the 5th minute but Assan Jatta leveled for Deago FC in the 10th minute. Deago FC’s captain Ebrima Gibba was sent off in the 9 minute for unsporting behavior.
As winners, Deago FC went home with a trophy, undisclosed cash amont, football and a certificate while runners up, Dums FC went home with a football, certificate and an undisclosed amount. All other teams that participated in the tournament received certificates and footballs. Certificates of appreciation and recognition were also presented deserving individuals and groups. The well contested final was graced by Hon. Ousman Bojang, Governor of West Coast Region; Marcel Mendy, executive director of the National Sports Council; Pa Suwareh Faye; members of Tripoli Family Association; village elders and fans among other spectators.
Bakary S. Darboe, Public Relations Officer for Tripoli Family Association, said they aim to make the tournament annual. He added that their aim was to participate and contribute to the development of the village and sponsoring orphans in the village.
He advised youth to take football seriously, saying it brings unity, wealth and development to those involved in it.
