Head coach of The Gambia senior national team, Tom Saintfiet is set to use Saudi Arabia and Morocco international training camps to improve on his defensive aspect.

The Scorpions slipped to Burundi and Ivory Coast in their 2026 World Cup qualifier matches played in Dares Salam, Tanzania, last month due to their massive defensive blunders.

Coach Saintfiet will use the two training camps to improve on their defensive weaknesses before the commencement of the 2023 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted in Ivory Coast.

The Gambia must improve on defensive aspect during their international training camps in Saudi Arabia and Morocco before commencement of the continent’s bi-annual biggest football festivity.

Meanwhile, the Scorpions reached the quarter-finals of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations but lost to Cameroon 2-0 in their last eight clash.
