Speaking to The Point Sports shortly after GFF announced the date for the commencement of the country's new league season, head coach of Gunjur United, Bubacarr Kakai Bojang, stated that the Coastal Boys were training hard ahead of the new league campaign despite the delay of the country's league season due to lack of football fields.
Gaffer Bojang further stated that Gunjur United were planning to play against Real de Banjul in a warm up match in the coming days to prepare themselves set for the new Second Division League season.
He appealed to the GFF to support clubs to improve the status of their football fields to host their home league matches.
"I think the GFF need to improve football grounds before the start of the country's league season.
Without proper football fields, it is going be very difficult for Gambian league to develop," gaffer Bojang said.
Coach Bojang revealed that Gambian clubs lack financial power to build their own stadiums, adding that the GFF should come forward and help clubs to build their own football fields to host their home league matches.
He further revealed that the GFF should improve the conditions of the Serrekunda East, West, Manjai, Bakau, Brikama, Banjul and Gunjur Mini Stadiums to host league matches.
Current FF Cup champions, Greater Tomorrow FC, also revealed that they were preparing themselves fit enough ahead of the country's new league season and their Super Cup final against Real de Banjul on 13 December 2025.
The Brikama based-team urged the GFF to move their Super Cup final against Real de Banjul from Basori to a neutral ground.
"We are not going to Basori to play against Real de Banjul in the Super Cup final," Greater Tomorrow said.
