The challenge covering 247 kilometers is expected to feature 20 bikers from United Kingdom who will ride from Barra to Kuntaur and back to Barra on Independence Day (18 February 2022.)
Caravan of Mercy through its fundraising was able to built a 10 classroom block in Serrekundading village, Kombo Central in West Coast Region with a computer lab, store, office, and toilets, all electrified by solar system.
The project costs D2,906,679.00.
In addition to these, funds went a long way in helping them cover day to day running cost of their projects including staff wages.
Pa Modou Sillah, desk overseas coordinator for Caravan of Mercy in The Gambia, said they also provided Kuntaur Wharf town school with solar system worth D136,205.00.
“These were all possible due to the fundraising bike ride we had in 2019. We could not do it in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which affected and continue to affecting the entire globe,” he added.
