Brufut Sports Committee to start ‘nawetan’ football season today

The Brufut Youths and Sports Committee (BYSC) will today, Friday 28th October 2022 commence its 2022 ‘nawetan’ football tournament after successfully completing its qualifying round tournament.

Twenty-five teams will be competing in this Brufut ‘nawetan’ football after six teams gained promotion from the qualifiers.

Group A consists of Steve Biko, Mystic FC, Sanchaba United, Fatou’s Print and Lama FC.

Group B comprises of Junior Stars, Ghana Town, Uprising FC and Omega FC.

Group C is made up of Sateba United, Wullinkama FC, Justice Stars and Allatentu FC.

Group D comprises of Dumbarton FC, AC Milan, Nyafullen and FC Luka.

Group E consists of California, Villa Park, Liverpool and Tranquil.

Group F consist of Mba Jarra, Big Apple, King Njies and Kenebaring.

Meanwhile, Mystic FC will open the Brufut 2022 ‘nawetan’ against Sanchaba United today, Friday at 4:30pm.

According to the Brufut Youths and Sports Committee, two teams will qualify from each group into the round of 16 knockout stage.

The Brufut nawetan league trophy was last won by Steve Biko, while Junior Stars FC won the last nawetan knockout competition.
