Babylon FC were on Saturday crowned champions of the Farato Senior League Tournament sponsored by honorable Kebba K. Barrow, National Assembly Member for Kombo South and organised by Farato Youth and Sports Committee.

The trophy was named after honorable Kebba O. Fadera.

They beat Bojang Kunda United 1-nil in a keenly contested final played at Farato Football Field. The tournament marked the 9th sponsored by the majority leader in Kombo South since 2017.

As winners, Babylon FC received a giant trophy worth 20, 000 and cash amount of D10, 000 while runners up, Bojang Kunda United went home with a cash amount of D15, 000.

Hon. Kebba K. Barrow, sponsor of the tournament in his remarks said, he sponsors football tournaments to help young people have a living as well as create job opportunities for them.

He added that, the tournaments are also geared towards ensuring social cohesion and improve togetherness in communities within his constituency.

“Young people are the bedrock of our communities and we want to encourage them to be more reliant and be able to do things on their own without depending on their parents and extended families,” he went on.

He urged the committee to ensure any team that wins the trophy for three consecutive times takes and owns it.

Meanwhile, the 2022 Farato knockout final is slated for tomorrow, Saturday at the Farato Football Field at 4.30 pm.

The much-awaited final will feature Duwa Jabbi Properties FC against Nema United Community FC.

The final is expected to attract spectators from Farato and its satellite areas.

Duwa Jabbi Properties FC and Nema United Community FC will both contend to beat each other in the final to clutch the 2022 Farato knockout trophy.
