Abdoulaye Fall, former vice-president of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) and president of the Diourbel Regional League yesterday, Sunday, 3rd August 2025 elected new president of the Senegalese Football Federation at the second round of the elective General Assembly held at the Cicad de Diamniadio.

With 322 votes against 30 for Mady Touré, and 16 null ballots, Fall won by far, marking the end of an era for Senegalese football.

The victory puts an end to Augustin Senghor's 16-year presidency (2009-2025), marked by victory at the 2021 CAN and two consecutive World Cup qualifiers. Senghor's defeat, eliminated in the first round with 91votes, reflects a strong aspiration for renewal expressed by football players.

Mady Touré, who denounced "cases of fraud" after the first round, failed to mobilize enough support to counter the Abdullahe Fall coalition, supported by influential figures such as Cheikh Seck and Abdoulaye Seydou Sow.

Fall, which advocates unity and stability through its PRAXIS program, is committed to modernizing Senegalese football, strengthening infrastructure and promoting youth employment through sport. His election opens a new page for national football, with major challenges to come, including the CAN 2025 and the qualifications for the 2026 World Cup.
