2 Gambian Doping Control Officers participate in DCO workshop

As part of its strides to enhance clean sports, fair play and integrity within Gambian athletes, Kemo Marr and Ndey Fatou Ann, recently took part in the 2025 RADO Doping Control Officer (DCO) Workshop held in Nairobi, Kenya.

Marr and Ann's participation in the workshop was fully supported by The Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC). 

The workshop was organised by Africa Zone V Regional Anti-Doping Organization (RADO) and the Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK).

The workshop was sponsored by WADA and Super Sport.

The training brought together Doping Control Officers (DCOs) from nine African nations namely Burundi, Eritrea, The Gambia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda.

The regional capacity-building workshop was aimed at strengthening fight for Clean Sport across Africa.

The collaboration underscored the shared commitment to fair play, integrity, and excellence in sport across the region.

Following their accreditation, Marr and Ann were the first Gambians to be certified as DCOs.

The duo will now be able to carry out Formal Testing of Athletes on behalf of Wada, Commonwealth Games, African Games and Olympics.
