It is a great honour to be asked by FaFa Edrissa M’Bai to write the Foreword to this remarkable compendium.
FaFa Edrissa M’Bai is a renowned legal luminary whose distinguished career spans over four decades. A recipient of multiple honours, he holds postgraduate degrees in Law and Political Science from the Universities of Keele and London and has left an indelible mark on The Gambia’s legal landscape.
The late Bola Carrol, of illustrious memory, often fondly referred to him as “The Mobile Law Library of the Gambia Bar,” a testament to his unparalleled depth of legal knowledge and scholarship. Although he retired from legal practice in 2012, upon reaching 70, he remains intellectually vibrant and prolific, continuing to write and contribute to legal thought even at the age of 82/83.
A voracious reader and erudite scholar, his academic excellence is unmatched—having obtained four degrees in just five years, an extraordinary feat that underscores his intellectual prowess and relentless pursuit of knowledge. He has authored several authoritative legal texts, including:
