The Year 2022 had confronted us many predicaments including but not limited to: violent conflicts, insurgencies, terrorism, war, diseases and pandemics, and economic crises. These difficulties have had some setback on the lives and livelihood of people across the globe.
We call on United Nation’s Secretary General to stand firm to promoting the principles and purposes of the United Nation – ‘to take effective collective measures for the prevention and removal of threats to the peace, and for the suppression of acts of aggression or other breaches of the peace’. The world needs peace to achieve the Sustainable DevelopmentGoals and AU Agenda 2063
Furthermore, The Peace Network Team urges religious and political leaders across the globe to rise and facilitate an amicable resolution to the longstanding war between Russia and Ukraine. Similarly, we call on African Union to remain committed towards ensuring peace and security in the continent.
The Peace Network extends sincere appreciation to the government of The Gambia for itscontinuous efforts in ensuring peace and security both at home and abroad. By extension, we therefore encourage thegovernment and citizenry to be more tolerant and peaceful. It is only in the environment of peace that development takes place.
Finally, as we start a new year, we pray for peace, security, prosperity and tranquility in our beloved planet.
Signed:
Alasana Jallow,
Chief Executive Officer.
