Subject: Heartfelt appreciation for the transformative road construction and electrification of Kiang West District
Your Excellency,
I write with profound gratitude and immense joy on behalf of the peace-loving people of Burong Village and the entire the Kiang West District to convey our sincerest appreciation to you and the Government of The Gambia for the visionary, historic, and life-changing construction of roads and extension of electricity to our constituency.
For decades, Kiang West has endured painful neglect and developmental exclusion under the two former presidents and their governments. We were a constituency forgotten, marginalized, and isolated in all aspects of national development. Our children grew up without hope of seeing tarred roads or electric lights, and our farmers, mothers, and elders bore the brunt of that neglect with remarkable resilience and dignity.
Your government’s bold, compassionate, and inclusive intervention has therefore been nothing short of redemptive and revolutionary for us. The newly constructed roads and the arrival of electricity are not just projects they are symbols of justice, recognition, and national unity.
This New Roads has already ended the isolation endured long by our fore-fathers where now our farmers can transport farm produces and vegetables to markets without the punishing delays and losses of their harvests. It has also begun to save lives in responding to emergencies by referring pregnant women and the sick for health care swiftly without delays. It will boost our educational system and teachers’ postings and our children can travel to school safely.
There is economic revival trade, and creation of tourism attraction centres to our historic sites is also possible. You have definitely restored our dignity we do no longer feel like second-class citizens. The tarred road is a physical reminder that we, too, are Gambians who matters. Your magnanimous intervention has added values and has connect us to the world where the information gap has also closed and our hopes are ignited, a land of hope.
Your Excellency, these are not mere conveniences for Kiang West, they represent the end of an era of abandonment and the dawn of genuine citizenship. You have given our children a reason to believe in The Gambia again.
We pray that Allah the Almighty continues to guide, protect, and grant you the wisdom and strength to extend this equitable and transformative development to every corner of our beloved nation The Gambia. Through your humble-self extend our heartfelt thanks to the Ministry of Works, National Roads Authority and NAWEC.
Please accept, Your Excellency, the deepest gratitude, loyalty, and prayers of the grateful people of Kiang West District.
Yours faithfully,
Lamin Colley
