Jobe would be doing the study programme in either Cambridge or Oxford University.
Broadly known as the Prolific Poet, Alpha is one of the most promising young writers in the country currently.
He earned the partial scholarship by Immerse Education for studies in one of these world-renowned universities following landmark feat as one of the winners of the Immerse Education Essay contest.
Organised by Immerse Education, a non-profit entity in the UK founded in 2012 with the aim of providing very young students with unparalleled educational experiences, the essay contest has offered ambitious students the opportunity to win a full or partial scholarship on their award-winning programmes.
Immerse offers summer school programmes in collaboration with top universities, which enables students work and study on these campuses like undergraduates.
Jobe contested and became one of the winners. Unfortunately he could not cover the rest of the expenses to travel to the UK for his studies.
This has inspired this earnest call for help, one extended to all Gambians from the corridors of government to those of the private sector.
He appeals: "As a passionate Gambian writer, poet, entrepreneur and author, I am humbly reaching out to you with a profound sense of commitment and responsibility to seek your generous sponsorship to cover my partial scholarships awarded to me by Immerse Education in UK
"I am proud to announce that I am the first Gambian to participate in and win a competition organized by Immerse Education in UK, earning me a partial scholarship of 20 percent to study in either Cambridge or Oxford. The remaining 80 percent amounts to £4996 equivalent to D450,000. The deadline for the fee payment is 30 March 2025.
"This is a great achievement for The Gambia and it is my hope that you will be pleased to be part of it by supporting me. My essay will be published on the Immerse Education Magazine in the upcoming Issue."
His main hindrance, Jobe says, is the fact that he comes from a very humble background.
"As a dedicated and hardworking writer, I have contributed numerous poems and articles to various platforms.
With a number of write-ups published national and internationally, Jobe aspires to become an established writer on the global stage. "In pursuit of this dream, I strongly believe your support in this matter will advantageously impact this journey," he said.
